Suddenlink Customers Enjoying High Internet Speeds
It’s double celebration for Suddenlink Communications customers after the company announced plans to increase Internet speeds.
In a landmark announcement that might get other providers by surprise, Suddenlink plans to increase speeds for fiber-optic Internet download to 150 Mbps. Upload speeds will increase up to 7.5 Mbps with changes taking effect mostly in Lake Havasu City. This is more than many providers in the American market offers to their customers.
The new development will see customers upgrade to faster speeds for their Internet services and no extra charges will be imposed. At the moment, their standard speeds are 15, 30 or 50 Mbps but will change to 50, 75, 100 and 150 Mbps after the upgrade takes effect. Non-transitional will be the fastest of all these options and will be available for $90 every month. The company has launched an ambitious “Operation GigaSpeed” plan under which this upgrading is being rolled out.
The plan has been operational since August last year and its projected to take Internet speeds as high as 1 Gbps. With that, it will be very hard for Suddenlink to lose its customers. Actually, it will attract more from its competitors. As per their estimates for 2015, Suddenlink is hoping to have at least half of the 1 Gigabit they have planned to launch to be successful by the close of the year. They plan to engage businesses more with approximately 17, 000 customers alone in Havasu. This could surpass other local cities including Arizona whose speeds stand at 45.7 Mbps.
Globally, Hong Kong holds the highest Internet speeds at 84.6 Mbps and Suddenlink believes they can match that or even go beyond the mark. If they are able to sustain their current push and keep their strategies intact, that is something achievable and in a very fast way.
